Children today face childhood challenges that did not exist 10 years or even five years ago. Tough (2012) explained that conscientiousness, self-control and perseverance all play a critical role in students’ success. Nevertheless, in our current environment of pervasive peer pressure, children are emotionally overwhelmed and want to fit in. The heart-wrenching truth is that children without self-control and grit all too often fall victim to peer pressure, and unwittingly choose an unproductive path.

CNP helps parents with tutoring and advising for their children by being a loyal advocate for all students’ success. We are experts in understanding what it takes for all children’s academic and life successes. With 15 million American children living below the poverty line, and almost 7 million of them living in deep poverty, we are dedicated to helping poor children succeed. CNP is devoted to creating environments both at home and at school in which the central skills of grit and self-control will flourish in children.
